On June 8th and 9th, the partners of the HAPPY PATIENT project gathered in Copenhagen to assess the progress of this project, which started in 2021 and will run until the end of this year, 2023.
Around thirty professionals from different parts of Europe gathered at the University of Copenhagen to share their research related to the reduction of the impact of AMR (Antimicrobial Resistance) in general practice, OOH (Out-of-Hours) services, dentists, nursing homes, and community pharmacies in five target countries: Spain, France, Greece, Poland, and Lithuania.
What HAPPY PATIENT has brought
«One of the things the project has brought to us is to deepen our understanding of how to standardize and diagnose commonly acquired infections across Europe,» said Carl Llor, coordinator of HAPPY PATIENT, during a workshop organized by the project’s communication and dissemination work package. Participants shared what this work has brought to them and how they see its future in 2028.
Furthermore, this meeting served to present some results of HAPPY PATIENT that will be communicated to the public by the end of this year. The objective is to raise awareness about the worldwide problem of antimicrobial resistance and the inappropriate use of antibiotics, as highlighted by the World Health Organization (WHO).
